Promoting Lifelong Learning Prepares Students for College, Career and Life Successes
Lifelong Learning is now recognized by educators, governing bodies, accreditation organizations, certification boards, employers, and the general public as one of the most important competencies that people need to possess. Promoting Lifelong Learning as a continuous, collaborative, self-directed and everlasting aspect of one’s life has emerged as a major global educational challenge. Meeting this challenge will require changes in the way teachers teach and learners learn. Teachers will take on the role of a facilitator and cheerleader in order for learners to take more responsibility for setting goals, identifying resources for learning and reflecting on and evaluating their learning. In these workshop sessions educators will learn strategies to increase students’ thirst for knowledge.
